In regard to the intended relocation of the spare parts store SC-W from Berlin to the EPC, the representatives of the employee in the Subcommittee of the European Works Council would like to make the following statement:

The intention of the "Service Excellence" is to serve the aim to make OTIS more successful, which in turn helps to protect jobs at the same time. The “Service Excellence” includes a fast service of defective installations. Our p ortfolio contains installations by many different manufacturers, including particular and country-specific requirements.

The OTIS companies represented in Europe have their spare parts mainly covered by the EPC. However, corresponding spare parts for particular local installations are also stored locally at individual countries to support a fast and reliable service towards our customers . The more so, because special contacts to local suppliers are of key importance, too.

The fact that OTIS Germany completely dissolves the spare parts stores within several branch offices as well as in Berlin is incomprehensible to us. With this move OTIS Germany runs the high risk to not be able to remedy possible disturbances directly and immediately.
This is in stark contrast to the principles of “Service Excellence”.

The representatives of the employees in the European Works Council will continue to stand for conservation and protection of jobs with OTIS in Europe . Like before, any measures that endanger this goal will face their resistance.

Londres 7 de julio 2006 .En vista de la deslocalización prevista del service Center de Berlín (piezas de repuestos del almacén) al EPC (Centro de almacenamiento Europeo situado en Paris), los representantes de los trabajadores en el subcomité europeo Otis hacen la siguiente declaración:

El cambio del servicio excelente tiene por meta alcanzar un mayor éxito para Otis y al mismo tiempo asegurar los puestos de trabajo, esto incluye un servicio rápido para las instalaciones averiadas. En cartera tenemos muchas instalaciones de marcas con especificaciones especiales según las normas de cada país.

A las compañías europeas Otis se suministran mayormente las piezas de recambios del EPC Paris, para las instalaciones especiales y poder atender mas rápido y económico a los clientes se mantendrá un almacén de repuestos en el país. Además es muy importante mantener un buen contacto con las empresas suministradoras del lugar.

Es incomprensible que Otis Alemania quiera cerrar los almacenes de piezas de recambio de sus sucursales y también el de Berlín.

Otis Alemania esta con un riesgo muy alto , las reparaciones de avisos no se puedan atender inmediatamente, y esto es totalmente contradictorio con el principio del “servicio excelente”.

Los representantes de los trabajadores del comité empresa europeo continuaremos defendiendo como siempre, el mantenimiento y asegurar los puestos de trabajo de Otis en Europa, y se rechazan las decisiones que dificulten esta meta. Firmado representantes europeos EWC.
